The founding thesis

The model is the easy part. Architecture is what survives the next model.

The first wave of enterprise AI focused on access—putting models, copilots, and assistants into people’s hands. The next wave is architectural: what happens when those systems must act, decide, and operate inside a governed enterprise.

Luminity was built for that second wave. Our focus is the substrate beneath applied intelligence: the data, decisions, systems, agents, controls, and evidence that allow AI to become an accountable part of enterprise operations.

Applied AI now reaches beyond dashboards and recommendations into consequential workflows. Model capability alone cannot resolve questions of authority, context, provenance, escalation, evaluation, and operational control.

The founding bet of Luminity is that architecture is the durable advantage in the agentic era. Tom built the firm to be small enough to stay advisory, opinionated enough to take a real position, and grounded enough—through continuous research—to back it up.

Tom also leads the AI Talent Accelerator (AITA), developing the architects and engineers who will carry enterprise AI from ambition into governed production.
